December 2024 – Top 10 New Releases on Steam

December ended the year strongly with Path of Exile 2 leading the way, generating $63 million while in paid Early Access. Slated for a free-to-play official launch, the game has already drawn considerable attention, with many calling it the greatest action RPG of all time.

Marvel Rivals, a free-to-play PvP hero shooter featuring a large roster of iconic Marvel characters, secured second place, earning $35.8 million and surpassing 15 million players on Steam.

The month’s biggest surprise was MiSide, an indie game creation by the two-person team AIHASTRO. The game sold over 1 million copies and brought in $13.2 million, boasting a remarkable 98% positive review score.

Another December highlight was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a new installment in the iconic Indiana Jones franchise. It generated $12.7 million, even with availability on Xbox Game Pass from launch.

Other notable mentions were Delta Force, a free-to-play game launched in Open Beta on December 4th that garnered $4.9 million and over 4 million players, and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered by Aspyr Media, which revived a beloved franchise and delighted fans, earning $1.5 million in December.
