Our latest hire - Marcus Adamsson (@Lakrixx)
We are proud to officially announce that we have hired Marcus Adamsson, the person behind the famous Twitter account @Lakrixx, known for providing his valuable insights about the Gaming and iGaming sectors. Please read our interview here:
Q: So, Marcus, can you please tell us a little about yourself and your working background?
A: I’m 32 years old, living in Gothenburg with my fiancé, Jessica. I was born and raised in Uddevalla, Sweden. In 2013 I moved to
Stockholm, where I studied computer science at KTH. After I graduated, I worked on Candy Crush Saga for four years as a game developer. For
the past two years, I have worked as a game engine developer for a startup in Gothenburg called Hiber. A keen interest of mine while working
in the games industry has been combining game development and data. I have always worked closely with data, trying to understand user
behaviour and how to improve the product.
Q: You seem to have an endless fascination for data and Gaming. What drives this interest?
A: I really enjoy the creativity within the games industry. I have been working in the gaming industry and have been a gamer since my
childhood, regularly following game announcements, game showcases, and sales data. There is something truly special about getting sucked
into other people’s creations and losing track of time and space.
Q: You decided to take a big leap by joining Alinea Analytics. What attracted you the most about Alinea?
A: Many factors influenced my decision. I have always wanted to work with alternative data full-time. Before joining Alinea, I worked
part-time on a platform for capturing statistics within the gaming universe. I have also done a lot of work within the iGaming space,
especially when it comes to alternative data for the live casino sector, with a focus on Evolution. What ultimately made me decide to join
Alinea was the people behind it. The team is very friendly, open and humble. I felt part of the team before my first working day. I want to
build something substantial, and I believe Alinea has the right competence and the right people to do just that.
Q: What will be your role at Alinea, and in which areas do you believe you can contribute the most?
A: I see myself contributing in several areas. I have broad domain knowledge when it comes to following sales data in the games
industry. I have always enjoyed sharing interesting data points on social media, mainly Twitter, to increase awareness of a product.
Additionally, I will be co-leading the work on a new and exciting project, which I can’t go into details about yet, so stay tuned for future
announcements.
Q: Why do you believe customers should sign up to the Alinea Analytics platform?
A: Alinea has developed the best gaming product, and I believe they have the best team to teach and help navigate the endless space of
gaming data. I think that is an essential part of Alinea. Further, Alinea possesses deep technical skills as well as broad analytical
skills.
Q: Lastly, what is your favorite game, and why?
A: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was the first time I was mesmerized by the vast open-world experience. Even though it doesn’t
stay true to the traditional Zelda formula, it was one of the best gaming experiences for me. From the first moment when Link wakes up from
his slumber, exits the cave, and looks out over Hyrule, it is absolutely breathtaking and gives me goosebumps every time.
We are excited to welcome Marcus to the Alinea Analytics team and look forward to his contributions. Stay tuned for more updates from Alinea Analytics!
